agps transformations

The exhibition agps transformations explores the notion of time in urban design processes using a number of projects of the Zurich and Los Angeles studios of agps architecture.
The exhibition focuses on the relationship of different time-horizons of spatial transformation: the urban design framework with a long-term perspective, the construction of buildings addressing intermediate timeframes, and the immediate events of everyday life.
Considering that long-term processes face the challenge of the unknown, the exhibition illustrates the significance of open and adaptable spatial and architectural constellations that can transform in time – as opposed to the a priori determination of an idealized final state that can rarely, if ever, be achieved.
